Since I start working around Kuchai Lama, there is this one particular stall that I have been hunting around as this Pakcik serve great paper thin Apam Balik and it was till recently I manage to found him back by change when I was stuck in a jam that I did a detour. Now I would rate this as one of the best Apam Balik at Kuchai Lama can be found in front of this 99 Speedmart Pasar Mini.
I love my apam in paper thin version where this uncle did it to perfection. What I usually order would be add corn and add peanut where a piece with normal ingredients is at RM0.90 and my version is RM1.
One of the reason I love this is also the uncle add a small piece of margarin at the end before flipping up to cool it down. That is when the marjerine melt to create the lovely bitter fragrant of butter that mix with its roasted peanut and corn. If you eat it while it is hot, you can still enjoy the cracking sound of it. I have my apam toast slightly longer too, to get the extra crisp of it.
