Update: [their whole chain close down except Lot10 Hutong]

One thing I notice recently is there is another franchise chain that came in and start to mushrooming. Tai Lei Lou Kei is another brand that starting its trend. Tai Lei Loi Kei (澳門大利來記豬扒包) is the famous cafe at Taipa Village of Macau since 1968 and one of their item that is popular among the folks there is, Signature Pork Chop Bun.

My first encounter with this brand was about 2 – 3 months ago in Lot 10 Hutong that they have a counter there. My friend did try it as he said that’s nothing to shout about but their milk tea can consider pretty good, also been told by my friend that this brand owner also own Tong Pak Fu dessert franchise.

Then this is one of their outlet in Kota Damanara that located in the heart of the center with the rest of all Taiwanese milk tea brand. If you know where Cha Time or Snowflakes is then the shop is just few doors away. I guess that street is soon to become one of a franchise street soon.

Of course when serve pork, some of their design is also porky, even their door handle. .

The whole concept of Tai Lei Lou Kei, Macau 1968 is more like a fast food chain outlet.

and of course their signature bun that many people shout about in Macau is now available in Malaysia.

One thing that I am quite surprise is that there are quite alot of mature and elderly people that patron this outlet.

Here is the menu that are pretty straight forward, with only a few sets for you to choose from and some ala-carte.

So for this round, decided to try out their signature item.

Tai Lei Lou KEi (9)

Milk Tea is a must order here as its done well with strong tea taste and mild milk at the end and its pretty solid to my liking. This is a complimentary drink as I order the set.

Macau Curry Fish Ball serve in 5 pieces that comes to RM 5.90. With its fiery red curry gravy as the base and the smell is intense, it doesnt taste as spicy as what it look and smell. Fish ball is decent and slightly bouncy and beats many places out there.

Tai Lei Lou KEi (10)

As there are 2 version of their Signature Pork Chop bun, I opt for their Polo Pork Chop Bun & Drink @ RM 13.90.

Tai Lei Lou KEi (11)

I am a big fan of Polo bun, but this outlet have one of the worst pop bun that I have come across. There is no crust on the top where is so soft, no buttery taste and the bun its not fluffy or airy. Pork chop is decent as well marinated and not too dry. Even normal bakery shop also top this outlet and still one of my favorite polo bun shop is this – Polo Zai in Sg Wang – Click here.

Tai Lei Lou KEi (12)

Another set we order is Bouncing Noodle with Pork Chop @ RM 13.90. Noodle did lift up the expectation of what it mention,  that is slight bouncy mix with some dark sauce. Nothing special.

I have not tried the ones in Macau, therefore do not know what to expect. For me, trying once is good enough.

I also felt this place was just mediocre though the milk tea is not bad. But it is always packed when I pass by during the weekends.

I tried the one with crusty bun, it was good to me. The milk tea I tried was kinda diluted. Nevertheless, we go only for the pork chop xD oh btw, I had the add-on cheese and it tasted much better than the one without.

Another one? I have never been fond of curry fish ball ever. It’s just not my thing really. I guess it is slightly over rated thanks to the TVB dramas.
