She had been running this stall easily for more than 30Â years. Using Charcoal to fried her signature koay teow is indeed pretty good. The only set back is the inconsistantcy.
I was lucky or during lock down, I do not have to wait 30 – 60 minutes in line to wait for a pack of this. Also I get to enjoy her slow cooking in charcoal fire filled with wok Hei. This was during last year August 2021 where state traveling is still restricted.
till last month April when I was back in Penang and decided to give it a try. The taste indeed quite different to the time I had in CMCO. A pack of this Lorong Selamat Char Koay Teow serve with 2-3 big prawns is at RM 11-RM20. Depending you would want to add prawns.

Actually a lot of ppl say this is overrated, I find it just ngam ngam rated, it’s good, and those prawns.. memang not that expensive if you factor in the recent prawn price
