Not very familiar with the area, as I have been there once only with printed google map on my hand, while driving my way through this area and realize that, its another food paradise which you can find a lot variety of food, and saw Bumbu Bali and Axian Tim Sum which is located around this area. Surely I am going to come again and try out the food here. Restaurant Taste Good is located opposite Bumbu Bali.
After every one had reach the restaurant, the friendly owner came to greet us and making sure we are comfortably seated then starts explaining a lot about her restaurant and what are the signature dish are better off compare to other restaurant in that area.
In this makan makan session, I manage to meet Chris and Christine, Ken, Philip and Helena and Ai Wei for the first time and those that I am familiar with are Wilson and Racheal, Sunny and Sidney and Mei Yee. Have to say sorry that do not have your picture in here cuz the shot I took a bit cacat. 🙂
Not long after we were seated and through the lady boss telling us about the dish, I am excited to see the first dish flowing with the aroma flying around that even make Sunny said, eemmm, nice smell. . . which is ‘Stir fry Dried and Fresh Cuttle Fish with Onion and Peas’. Nicely fried that filled with ‘wok hei’ that manage to preserve the freshness of the veggie, with the cuttle fish toppings on top makes the extra unique taste of it.
‘Bean curd in Pumpkin sauce’ which I find it unique in taste, rich thick flavor of pumpkin gravy texture yet with soak with the bean curd just makes you want to have 2nd piece.
I enjoy the ‘Claypot Spare Ribs with Bitter Gourd’ which it comes near to the taste that I have missed b4 when I was eating in a Hong Kong restaurant during my trip, get to taste the bitter gourd taste which is not too strong yet combines well with the black bean sauce that makes it a good dish to accompany with a bowl of rice.
‘Braised 3-ply Pork Belly’
is one of the dish I enjoy much here, with the soft delicate texture of the skin and with the thin layer of fats in between cook with the gravy is just something that melt in your mouth and would carry you away.
‘Sweet and Sour Crispy Chicken’ which is deeply fried to perfection, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with the mild sauce is the right choice to go along.
‘Clamps in Superior Soup’ is one of the dish that must order. Clear soup filled with ginger and special taste yet with the fresh lala is something you do not want to miss.
‘Steam Mandarin Fish in Rice Wine’ soft fish meat that dips with the rice wine sauce just makes you want to eat more.
Crab with black paper, sweet and sour or kam hiong is something which I usually order but ‘Butter and Pumpkin Crabs’ is the first time I came across and thought that the taste would be bad but surprisingly, it is rich and creamy in flavor that we just took the crab shell and lick to enjoy the unique taste of it. We wish we had more room for this. Strongly recommended on this for crab lovers.
Followed by ‘Kam Hiong Crabs’
which fried with small dry shrimps make it a bit salty yet combines well with kam hiong flavor yet a bit spicy.
Satisfaction is the word at the end of the meal.
At the end of the session, Sidney brought along a bottle of wine to make a toast to welcome back Chris and Christine back to Malaysia. Glad to met them.
For those who are looking for nice Chinese food, surely this is the restaurant that you would not want to miss for. They serve good food with reasonable price.
