One of my very first restaurant that I hit when I was in Perth is Jamie Italian. Well, who do not know prominent chef Jamie Oliver ? Started in Oxford and now have more than 40 restaurants all over the world and thought that its a restaurant that I must pay a visit.

Menu are quite extensive and spoilt with choices.

As I step in, I am in love with their interior design. It is a relaxed Italian chain, with rustic menu and antipasti bar

Seeing there are local beers available, I instantly place my order.

We started off with -one of their daily specials. Love the coconut fragrance meat with mild marinated chicken with herbs and its a pretty simple dish to start off with.

Jamie Italian (13)

Porcini Arancini  @ AUD 14.50 – It is a very simple homecook Fried balls risotto with fontina, mozzarella & arrabiatta, taste were rather blend.

Jamie Italian (14)

Chicken Al Mattone @ AUD 31 – free range marinated chicken with a creamy wild mushroom sauce, lemony rocket, crostini & paramesan. Stack up nicely and one of a better dish for the night.

Jamie Italian (15)

Grilled Free Range Pork Chop @ Aud 29.95. Marinated & cooked under a brick with bagna cauda, apple, kohlrabi, mint, lemon and crackling. Taste alright as the mint apple did balance the taste of pork and pork was cook just nice.

This was mine as I ordered Jamies Italian Burger @ AUD 22 – prime Aussie beef with mortadella, balsamic onions, and others. It was quite disappointing where I have tried better ones around the area.

One lesson I have learnt thru here that I have put too high expectation for this meal where its because it is Jamie Oliver and must have been something great. His style of cooking is more towards home cook version therefore what is serve in this restaurant is more like a casual homecook food. For Asian taste bud, lower down your taste expectation then you will enjoy.

I guess with the amount spend in here, you can get better food some where else and worth to try once if you are a big big fan of him.
