In KL, there are quite a number of places quite well know for their “tai Chow” and at this specific outlet in Bukit Bintang,
Soon Kee Mee Restaurant was introduce to me about 15 years ago and till date its still standing strong as had made its name to many regular from local to outstation that are very well know for a few dishes only.
Located 5 minutes away walking distance from Parkroyal Hotel, tug this place which that is well known for their “Sang Har Noodle” or known as Fresh Water Prawn Noodle and some other side dish.
Whooo, also voted as one of a top food shop under Timeout KL.
This coffeeshop is constantly full and just have to wait a while for a table as the turn over here is pretty fast.
We tried off with Chi Pau Kai – tip with dark soy sauce wrapping around it then bake for a while before its serve. Chicken is very juicy, aromatic and its good to pair along with rice.
Roast Pork with veggie is something to look for as the veggie is filled with wok hei and roast pork is fried till well balance and fragrant. Pretty addictive though.
IF you do observe on other tables, you can notice quite a number of tourist or most of the table would order one. Its one of a expensive signature dish is “Sang HAr Noodle” that serve in pale orang yellowish colour as they cook along with huge prawn yolk to make it creamy and tasty. For this round, this gigantic prawn is fresh and surely will increase your cholesterol level too. . 😀
Lastly, another of their signature dish is their Fried Beef noodle Hor Fun. Cook to perfection that the beef are tender and juicey yet not over cook. Gravy is not too thick yet is flavourful as you can see that they add in fresh yolk on top as its being serve still slightly yolk yellowish.
Overall, if you do not order their Shang har noodle, then it wont cost you a bomb as their price of food is pretty decent consider it is located in Bukit Bintang.
